Conceived by Prof. Alberto Pivato, the event was brought to life through a complex organizational structure we coordinated in synergy with the Order of Engineers of Treviso, forensic institutions, and leading university departments. Following the success of its debut, the second edition expanded its scope with an enhanced scientific program split into three parallel sessions, including a fully international track. We managed the reception of prominent figures from academia, industry, and the legal sector, offering attendees high-level discussions centered on real case studies and major national disputes across civil, structural, environmental, industrial, and safety engineering.
The event’s centerpiece was the innovative outdoor workshop “Crime Scene Analysis,” organized in collaboration with Staffordshire University and the University of Padua. Participants stepped into the shoes of CSI-style investigators within a realistic field simulation of an environmental incident involving a diesel spill. Guided by forensic experts, engineers engaged in a hands-on, immersive experience—from securing the area to prevent evidence contamination to soil/water sampling and photographic documentation.
To round off the experience and highlight local hospitality, we curated an engaging social program for both editions. This featured the interactive murder mystery dinner format “(S)Cena in Noir,” blending traditional cuisine from Treviso with themed theatrical readings and team-building gameplay.
