We directed SUM 2026 at Palazzo d’Avalos (a former Bourbon residence and former prison on Procida), managing an international community of 219 participants from 29 countries and a dense program of over 180 scientific contributions. We translated the concept of Circular Economy into a concrete visual experience: working alongside local artists and artisans, we curated setups entirely based on reuse, from wind-blown plastic jellyfish to reclaimed wood sculptures and conference bags made from recycled saris.
To highlight the island’s identity, we also designed an immersive social program focused on building connections and embracing the island’s slow pace. We guided participants to discover Procida through unique moments: a sea-view aperitif dinner, a karaoke night in a deconsecrated church, a dinner in the heart of the Corricella fishing village, and a magical closing event in a charming lemon grove.
