We managed the complex organizational machine of the 20th edition of the Sardinia Symposium, taking care of a prestigious international community from 49 countries, with a large delegation led by China and South Africa. The rich scientific program came to life across 8 parallel sessions featuring over 400 presentations including oral presentations, posters, workshops, and active labs. We coordinated a multidisciplinary approach covering cutting-edge topics—such as Artificial Intelligence, Circular Economy for new waste streams (WEEE, batteries, and photovoltaics), and textile recycling—up to education and communication aspects, while also organising the presentation ceremony for the prestigious “A Life for Waste” award, attended by the President of the Autonomous Region of Sardinia, Alessandra Todde.
To enhance the spirit of sharing and networking that has always defined the Symposium, we designed and coordinated a dynamic and immersive social program to discover local and international traditions: a welcome pool party featuring Sardinian and South African wine tastings, an original virtual safari discovering the “Big Five”, the unmissable Sardinian Dinner set in a traditional courtyard house, and the highly popular entertainment nights of Karaoke and “Sardinia’s Got Talent”, concluding in style with the final Gala Dinner.
