To celebrate the milestone 10th anniversary of SUM, we chose the exclusive setting of Capri and its Luigi Pollio Congress Center. Backed by the patronage of the Ministry for Ecological Transition, the Campania Region, the Municipality of Capri, ENEA, and ISPRA, the event welcomed 233 delegates from 34 countries, achieving extraordinary international reach. We coordinated an ambitious scientific program featuring 186 presentations across four parallel sessions – combining oral talks, workshops, and posters – along with four plenary sessions designed for open debate with the audience.
A special anniversary calls for unforgettable moments. We curated a lively social program infused with warm Neapolitan hospitality: after a refined seafood gala dinner overlooking the sea, the evening turned into a spirited dance party that brought the entire venue to life – with staff and chefs joining delegates in spontaneous celebration. The following day, we bid farewell to our guests with an unforgettable boat excursion, featuring lunch on board as we sailed around the iconic Faraglioni rocks and visited the world-famous Blue Grotto.
